Heart disease remains the leading cause of death globally, affecting millions of lives each year. Guyana leads the Caribbean region in cardiovascular disease, with ischemic heart disease being the leading cause of death, according to Global Heart, the official journal of the World Heart Foundation. This alarming statistic highlights the urgent need for comprehensive cardiovascular health awareness and prevention programs in Guyana.
